Helene Marie Jarrett, 83, Westfield, IN passed away peacefully at 2:50 a.m., on Saturday, September 8, 2018 with her daughter and grandchildren by her side. She was born October 16, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana the daughter of the late Jerry Jarrett and Frances (Fisher) Jarrett.
Helene was a graduate of Kokomo High School. She retired from the City of Kokomo where she worked at the Street Department and was affectionately known as “NiNi”. She enjoyed spending time with her family, collecting antiques, and playing cards.
Helene is survived by her only child, Stephanie (Jarrett) Jones of Noblesville; grandson, Jamie Mayhill of Walton; granddaughter, Cari (Kellen) Marshall of Jeffersonville; great grandchildren, Braylen Mayhill, Scarlette Mayhill, Cooper Marshall and Colston Marshall. She was also a very special and loving aunt to Kitty (Roger) Cook, Greg Wolfe, Chris (Rita) Wolfe, Kyle Caylor and Shari Moss.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Clyde E. Mays Jr.; parents, Jerry Jarrett and Frances Jarrett; sisters, Sharon Wolfe, Kitty Caylor; brother, Richard Jarrett; and brother in law, Everett Wolfe.
Helene loved her family especially her daughter and her grandchildren whom she often referred to as “her world”. She was known and loved by all for her kind and generous heart and genuine love for ALL children. Her loving heart will remain an admirable example for all who knew her.
